Cake creations: "It's my fault I was being greedy...."
First off, my intention was to make this sexy vanilla sponge with passion fruit curd cream sandwiched in, chocolate ganache on draping down in the current trendy fashion at the moment with chocolate covered strawberries. Well.... here's what it looked like from its "Good" side (cake coming like Mariah Carey up in this......).
Well, chilllllle after this picture was taken it collapsed and became a hot "a-double snake" messssss. It's my fault I was being greedy, who told me to put two dense sponges that (for some reason) had slight collapsed in the middle, without levelling them first. Remember that show Stars In Your Eyes, imagine me placing the cake in the fridge, closing the door, coming back after 10 minutes and witnessing the "lopsidedation" and "implodation" that had ensued. What a messssss!!!!!!. Thank goodness it tasted good, because it would have been a complete sham!!!!
Process of making cake
1. Vanilla sponges (you can see as they cooled there was a slight sinkage in the middle... kmt).
2. Melted the dark chocolate (you can use 60% to 70% depending on preference) and washed strawberries. Note: This was done whilst the cake was baking
3. Chocolate-covered strawberries resting on baking sheets to be placed into the fridge.
4. Whipped cream on cake and passionfruit curd I found in TK maxx food gift section.
5. Chocolate ganache made by heating double cream with a tablespoon of sugar and 70% cocoa chocolate
Another shot of the cake before the disaster happened.........
P.S. This will be attempted again I will not be deterred!!!!!!
