Plantain ("plantin") tacos and churros

Now I have had plantain practically all my life but I would have never have thought to place it into a taco with the following ingredients: feta cheese, chipotle adobo, sour cream and cilantro. The taco had the right balance of sweet (from the plantain), salty (from the feta cheese which I think was a substitute for queso fresco) and savoury/smoky (chipotle adobo sauce).

While visiting Wahaca, a Mexican street/market food restaurant in London, I decided to try something new and this was the dish. It wasn't too heavy but it filled me up just right as a snack. The cook/chef behind the restaurant is Thomasina Miers who was one Masterchef and actually did a TV programme about her travels in Mexico. I'm not an expert on Mexican food but the flavours were very much like the flavours I had experienced while on holiday in Mexico 2-3 years ago. Of course I had to have something sweet afterwards in the form of churros. My Aunt and I couldn't decide whether to have chocolate or dulce de leche sauce... so we had both. As with the tacos, the churros were freshly cooked and were piping hot and of course delicious.

Definitely check this place out (I am probably late knowing about this place but I am soo glad I know now)
