Nadia's cold and flu shot?!?!?!?!
So the weather has been extremely indecisive for the past few weeks and my A DOUBLE SNAKE (if you know.. you know) is still waiting on this supposed "Indian summer" we're meant to be having this month, which is nearly over. So with all this change in temperature, like many, I caught a cold. I was a messsssss!!!!! I did the "WOE IS ME" and "OH MY GOSH I'M DYING" act ....everything. But, I had to get myself together, I had started a new term and my teaching timetable was and is intense. I used my inner scientist to create a flu/cold busting concoction: Ginger and Kale shotssss!!!!. Ginger shots aren't really new invention and have been around for a while. I however, decided to do my own twist on it. Ginger has many health benefits, its ability to increase saliva production is very helpful when trying to swallow with a sore throat. Additionally, it has the ability to warm the body which is key to getting rid of the chills. Kale, although trendy, has many different vitamins and minerals including vitamins A,K and magnesium. Vitamin C which is also present, contributes to promoting a healthy immune system a vital component needed for battling a cold or flu. I added lemon juice (I used some from a bottle but you can use fresh obviously) which also adds a boost of more vitamin C. If you need to kick your cold or flu in the butt or just like ginger shots in general try this recipe out. I had this twice a day for 5 days and I was much better afterwards. Please however, check if you are allergic to any of the ingredients and I'm not a doctor, if your condition gets worse see a real one. Enjoy!!!!!
