BTS YouTube Pilot Mukbang - GOT7 Concert

Recently, I uploaded a "budget"

Mukbang detailing my experience at the GOT7 concert in Paris.

Please watch the video and show some support. I call it a budget mukbang because the production value is aiight and I'm all over the place.

Since it was the first K-Pop (Korean Pop) Concert I went to I decided to make some Korean food for my Mukbang. I was nervous because this was my first time making a YouTube video and first time cooking Korean food. However, they were very easy compared to the other dishes I could of made and I didn't want to over-complicate things.

I used the K Food Cookbook by Da -Hae and Gareth West which I purchased randomly in my local TK Maxx

The recipes I used were also in another cookbook I have called "Our Korean Kitchen" by Jourdan Burke and Rejina Pyo.

Each cookbook talks about the background of the authors and what inspired them to even create the cookbook. The information was very insightful and interesting to read

So what did I make? Well I made Crispy Seafood Pancakes (Haaemul Pajeon). The recipe I used would make two pancakes so what I did was half the batter

Ingredients

250g (9 oz.) plain flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking powder

375ml sparkling water

200g (7 oz.) mixed seafood

2 bird's eye (or any other) chillies, finely chopped

10 spring onions

(serve with Cho Ganjang: 4 tbsp. dark soy sauce, 2 tbsp. vinegar, 4 tsp of Korean red chilli powder)

Method

You make the batter using flour, salt, baking powder and sparkling water. Then you add the spring onions, seafood and chillies. Add vegetable oil to pan on a high heat and pour in batter. Cook the batter for 2-3 minutes (I did slightly longer because my pan is acting up).

I want some form of protein but to be honest with you I am always having chicken so I wanted a simple fish dish. I chose the grilled mackerel (Go Galbi).

Ingredients

Mackerel fillets

Pinch of salt

(Serve with Yangnyum Jang: 6 tbsp. soy sauce, 1 tbsp. fish sauce, 2 spring onions, 2 bird's eye chillies, 2 tbsp. gochugaru, 1 tbsp. water, 1 tsp caster sugar, 2 garlic cloves)

Method

(Put fillets under high temp. grill and cook for 5 minutes)

Lastly, to go on the side I made some Steamed Egg (Gyeran JJim). I halved the recipe as the measurements are for 2-4 people.

Ingredients

100ml fish/chicken/vegetable stock

1/2 tsp sea salt

4 large eggs

1 spring onion

1 red chilli

1/2 tsp toasted black and white sesame seeds

Method

Add the stock, salt and water and whisk in egg. Pass through a sieve. Place in a bowl a pan filled slightly with boiling hot water and cook for 10-15 minutes. Use a tea towel to help place and remove bowl from hot pan (pan must be bigger than bowl containing egg mixture)

(I also bought kimchi to have on the side)

About the GOT7 concert and Paris. I did squeeze quite a bit of site-seeing during my time in Paris

Watch my YouTube video to get the general low down of the concert.

Highlights from GOT7 concert Jumbo screen. Officially "duppying" people for real.

Wah gwan for BamBam though. Glowing up for real!!!!!!!!!!

Jinyoung my first "bias"

Jackson out here snatching wigs and trying to kill eveeerybody!!!!!! Just straight up scalping people in these skreets.

The concert was soooo great!!!!. Had a really good time. It was the first time going to a concert by myself and travelling by myself. Had so much fun learnt so much about myself (kinda) along the way. Would definitely see them in the concert and visit Paris again.

Sidenote:

On Instagram I have been following the hashtag #치즈 케이크 which translates into #cheesecake and I have seen copious amounts of moreish cheesecake pictures. I made a deconstructed version of the cheesecake which I didn't end up filming because I was hella full.

I really wanted to take more pictures so you could see what I altogether but completely forgot!!!!! So annoyed but there will be many next times so bare with me.

Let me know what you thought of the post and the video. I appreciate the support and advice if you guys have any. See you soon!!!!
